Open BOTS in Maps
Where do Cycle Safe Dubai rides start?

We meet under the gazebo at BOTS — Bottom of the Stick. Use the CSD map link and arrive ready at least 15 minutes before wheels roll.

Is Last Exit / TOTS the CSD meeting point?

No. Last Exit is known locally as TOTS — Top of the Stick. CSD Saturday and Sunday rides start from BOTS, not TOTS.

What time do the rides start?

From 21 November 2026, both weekend rides start at 6:30 am. Arrive ready by 6:15 am at BOTS. Always check the current ride notice.

Are pace and distance options guaranteed?

No. Saturday groups and distances depend on who attends. Typical target averages range from around 25 km/h to 34+ km/h, with distances selected to suit the riders available that morning.

Does the stated pace mean a constant speed?

It is a target average. Speed naturally rises on descents and eases on rises. The group checks that riders are comfortable when the pace changes.

Are the rides no-drop?

Most CSD rides operate with a no-drop approach. Some groups may regroup at agreed points; on the 85 km route, riders sometimes increase the pace toward the mosque and regroup there.

What is the Sunday Legendary Coffee Ride?

It is a controlled, social ride to Al Jiyad Stables and back, about 60 km in total. Riders should be able to sustain approximately 28 km/h for 30 km before joining.

What should I bring?

Bring identification, a charged phone, helmet, suitable road bike, enough water, nutrition, a tube or patch kit, pump or gas, and the tools needed for basic roadside repairs.

Is there parking at the start?

Yes, but it can fill quickly on busy mornings. Arriving earlier than the minimum 15 minutes gives you time to park, prepare and find the gazebo.

Is there a support vehicle?

A sponsored vehicle supports designated CSD rides for safety and mechanical problems that cannot be fixed roadside. It is not a taxi and riders remain responsible for arriving prepared and self-sufficient.

Can visiting cyclists join?

Competent road cyclists are welcome when the published pace and distance suit their ability. This is a structured group ride, not a private guided tour, so visitors join the planned ride format.

Can I hire a bike or buy supplies nearby?

Bike availability, shops and other facilities can change. The photo guide reserves clear positions for the Careem bike point, petrol station and facilities; confirm current opening and availability before relying on them.

What wildlife might I see?

Riders may see camels, Arabian oryx and other desert wildlife. Slow down when needed, give animals space and never leave the marked track to approach them.

How should I prepare for desert heat?

Start hydrated, carry enough fluid and electrolytes for the conditions, protect yourself from the sun and know the warning signs of heat illness. Stop riding and seek appropriate help if you feel unwell.

Where are last-minute ride changes posted?

CSD uses its WhatsApp group, Instagram and Facebook for current information, including the occasional weather-related change. Check before travelling even when conditions appear obvious.
