Al Qudra cycling.
Al Qudra has become a home for Dubai’s cycling community since H.H. Sheikh Mohammed’s conversation and vision in 2013—and it remains CSD’s long-standing weekend base.
Etiquette in the desert.
You need to plan carefully for heat, wind, distance and hydration, but also understand how we ride in the UAE.
- Joining a group? Check what they’re doing
- Carry enough hydration
- Bring repair essentials
- Choose the right group
- Remain self-sufficient
- Be mindful of others
Saturday
The busiest day at Al Qudra, with many private and club groups generally riding clockwise. Zads and ADNOC are popular coffee stops. Ride tunnels and bridges single file; call clearly when passing, slowing or turning. Watch for Careem users and newer cyclists. BOTS parking can be difficult.

Usually quieter, although organised events can add traffic. BOTS parking is generally easier, with more recovery riding and fewer groups looping. A morning tailwind away from BOTS can mean a headwind around the loop, but thankfully the turn back down the Stick usually brings the tailwind again. Carry what you need for self-sufficiency and check event notices before travel.
