Heritage
From ski bindings to clipless cycling pedals, LOOK helped change the way riders connect to the bicycle.
French cycling heritage shaped by clipless pedals, carbon craftsmanship and performance products for road, track, gravel, triathlon and mountain riding.
LOOK describes its approach as a combination of industrial manufacturing and hand craftsmanship. Its product story links three areas that matter to riders: heritage, carbon and performance.
From ski bindings to clipless cycling pedals, LOOK helped change the way riders connect to the bicycle.
Decades of carbon-frame development support road, track, gravel and triathlon platforms.
Bikes, pedals and power products are developed to translate rider input into speed, control and repeatable data.
The timeline below keeps the most useful milestones visible without turning the CSD page into a museum.
LOOK’s manufacturing story starts in Nevers, France, before its cycling breakthroughs.
The PP65 brought ski-binding thinking to cycling and helped establish the modern clipless road pedal.
The KG86 carbon frame became part of LOOK’s racing heritage at the highest level.
The KEO platform arrived in 2004, followed by the carbon-blade retention concept in 2010.

A road pedal should suit the rider’s shoes, cleats, mobility and confidence. A power-meter pedal adds measurement, but the fundamentals—fit, cleat position and consistent use—still come first.
Confirm compatibility, float and replacement-cleat availability before committing to a pedal platform.
Cleat position and release tension affect comfort and confidence. New users should practise unclipping in a safe area.
Dual-sided systems can show total power and left-right information; value comes from consistent testing and interpretation.
A power meter is most useful when paired with a repeatable training approach—not when it simply adds another number to the screen.
LOOK’s current bicycle range extends beyond a single road-race platform. Road, track, triathlon, gravel, mountain and urban uses place different demands on aerodynamics, stiffness, weight, handling and comfort.
The right choice is therefore not simply the most expensive frame. It should match the terrain, position, event goals and everyday riding the cyclist actually intends to do.
Start with the correct size and riding position, then compare frame purpose, components and wheel choice.
