Dubai’s traffic-free cycling challenge returns to Expo City Dubai–Al Forsan Park, with a season of build-up rides leading to the Main Event and an opportunity for eligible riders to qualify for the 2027 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.

The build-up series helps riders develop distance, speed and seeding before the closed-road Main Event.
A Gran Fondo with a pathway
How do I qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships?
Riders aged 19 and over who enter the Main Event or Invitational/Elite category have the opportunity to qualify. The top 25% in each age category is calculated by combining results from the licensed Invitational/Elite and open non-licensed start groups.
Age eligibility is based on the rider’s age on 31 December 2027. The event’s final start format will be confirmed in the official “All You Need To Know” rider guide.
World Championships
The 2027 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are scheduled for Haute-Savoie, France. The current official event information should be checked before making travel plans.
Top25%
of eligible finishers in each age category can qualify, subject to the organiser’s current rules and official results.
